Wavescape, the latest project by the architecture firm LMTLS, is a proposal for the revitalization of the abandoned and disconnected urban area along the Honggye stream in Seoul, transforming and redefining the current environment.
LMTLS conceived the idea of the undulating surface, thinking of it as a social magic carpet connecting the different levels of the stream and the city. A project that helps the integration of the structure with the natural environment, allowing direct contact with the Honggye stream.
The project is essentially an extension of a road and a park. It is not a separate and independent building, detached from its surroundings, but an active mutation between architecture and landscape.
The idea is to encourage visitors and neighboring communities to spend time on the structure, the curvature of the surface varies to maximize accessibility and connection between the stream and the city.
LMTLS has conceived Wavescape surrounded by nature, giving some peace and quiet to the busy streets of Seoul, a way to immerse yourself in the green while staying in the city center.
