“Wearable art”, the collaboration between sacai and KAWS

A few days after the presentation of the first Jean Paul Gaultier collection designed by Chitose Abe of sacai, the Japanese designer and Brian Donnelly aka KAWS have officially presented their collaboration for the men’s Fall & Winter and women’s 2021 Pre-Autumn collection.

This join venture between two huge personalities from the worlds of art and fashion stems from a “long-standing mutual admiration and friendship” that goes beyond fashion and art by blurring their boundaries.

The collection includes men’s, women’s and children’s items where KAWS’s works have been transformed into sacai silhouettes whose key graphic themes are obviously the many bright, bold colours used together and a not too pronounced camo pattern. The co-branding sees the sacai logo surmounted by the Xs typical of the American artist.

Jackets, shirts, tees and hoodies are not lacking in this capsule collection but the accessories are also of some importance overall: a bag in three different sizes, each available in the two palettes that distinguish the collection and the KAWS x Nike Blazer Low, the release date of which is not yet known.

The collection will be available worldwide on sacai THE store from 17th July.
