Carhartt WIP announces the tenth edition of WIP magazine, marking the occasion with over 200 pages – the largest issue ever. This edition delves into style, subculture, music, and art, all through Carhartt WIP’s unique perspective. This special issue features two unique covers. The first highlights New York rapper and musician CLIP, captured by French photographer Paul Mérelle. In an exclusive interview, CLIP discusses her online persona and her decision to resist major record labels. The second cover, photographed by Londoner Sirui Ma, ties into the main feature of the issue, Clockwatchers. This twenty-eight-page dossier explores the future of work amid an impending climate crisis.

The magazine includes essays, interviews, and visual pieces, with conversations with Malcolm Harris, author of Palo Alto, on the necessity of degrowth; reflections on the absurdity of corporate creative work; visions of the office spaces of the future by architect Fabienne Sommer; and an exploration of the pervasive influence of the “deck” as a presentation tool. Baltimore musician Nourished By Time discusses his latest project, Catching Chickens, and his evolving “post-RnB” sound. Artist Diamond Stingily, photographed by Rahim Fortune, talks about discipline, boundaries, and safety. Photographer Robert LeBlanc previews Tin Lizards, documenting his journey through America’s remote areas by train.

The magazine also visits Douala, Cameroon, to explore Jail Time Records, a unique label founded in one of the country’s most notorious prisons, which supports incarcerated artists and offers them new opportunities. In London, Congolese sound artist and performer Cõvco shares her insights with images by Joyce Ng. The French designer duo Hanabi, known for collaborations with Drake and La Fève, discuss their future projects. Spanish skater Maria Navarro takes a break to talk about her surrealist ashtrays. The issue also presents the pop culture references of Anthony Coleman.

In Taipei, jeweler Shiningmaker explains his minimalist yet playful grillz. Director Cieron Magat explores teenage boredom in Reading, England, against the backdrop of a typical UK high street. The Spring/Summer 2024 collection is captured by photographers Catherine LoMedico, Den Niwa, and Tolya Titaev. The edition concludes with author Geoffrey Mak in conversation with Hua Hsu about Mak’s debut book, Mean Boys, and an interview with writer and theorist W. David Marx at his home in Tokyo, where he discusses culture, status, and desire.
