On the occasion of the major group exhibition Post Scriptum. Un museo dimenticato a memoria, currently underway at MACRO – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, through February 16, 2025, a new artistic intervention takes shape through a collaboration with adidas Originals. This contribution serves as yet another example of adidas’s commitment to fostering cutting-edge creative dialogues, solidifying its role as a promoter of innovative interactions between art and fashion.
The installation comprises three large-scale photographs, part of a fashion editorial commissioned to art director and stylist Francesca Cefis, created by photographer Alassan Diawara and curated by MACRO’s artistic director Luca Lo Pinto. The images feature young models wearing adidas’s iconic Superstar sneakers styled in an Opium Core aesthetic with pieces from the adidas Originals collection. The photographs occupy the walls of the room dedicated to MACRO’s permanent collection, partially overlaying images of the museum’s storage spaces, captured by photographer Giovanna Silva. This overlapping creates a compelling visual dialogue, enriching the exhibition experience and encouraging new reflections on the interaction between displayed works and new artistic contributions.
The complete editorial, set to be published soon, will become one of the exhibition’s two catalogs, cultivating an ongoing, profound conversation between art and fashion that goes beyond the exhibition’s limits and opens up fresh perspectives on the relationship between these creative fields.
