Answering to the question about which is the room that describes us in our home is quite hard: someone can feel comfortable in a sunny kitchen, someone can feel comfortable in the living room where he or she can share time with others, someone can feel comfortable in the bathroom far away from everyone and everything, someone can feel comfortable under the sheet on their own bed.
The bedroom itself becomes the main character of a photographic series, American Bedroom, realized by the american photographer, Barbara Peacock.
The goal is to use the bedrooms as an instrument to give to the observer a portrait of the american people, without filters or/and veils, in all their facets, in a story long from 3 to 5 years, that ends with an exhibition (at The Fence in Boston, from October 2017 to January 2018) and a photographic book. The photos, that remember the work of great photographers as Walker Evans, represent each one a different emotion, that has no need to be explained: from loneliness to old age, from the morning peace to the energetic childhood, she gives to every layer of the society the chance to express themselves without word, taking photos she listens to their stories.
