KaloolaJay Studio‘s illustrations capture for their simplicity and, at the same time, for their richness of colours and shapes.
Behind the name of KaloolaJay Studio hides Kate, an English artist who has transformed her background in architecture into the starting point of her art. Today, in fact, she illustrates and creates beautiful posters and postcards representing buildings of all kinds.
From the lifeguards’ houses typical of American beaches to the white Greek houses, from historic buildings to modern skyscrapers, Kate’s eye rests on the shapes of the balconies, the lines of the stairs, the colours of the bricks and plasters and returns them to us in illustrations made in flat design technique.
Each element is therefore reduced to a minimum, depth and perspective are sacrificed to leave room for colours and textures. With its illustrations, KaloolaJay Studio opens the doors of a world where it is always summer, where the warm sun beats on the facades of buildings and where we can smell the scent of freedom and carefreeness.
