La Costituzione più bella del mondo becomes a mural

La Costituzione più bella del mondo |

La Costituzione più bella del mondo was born in 2020 from an idea of Paola Manfroni, Giampiero Quaini and the team of the Roman creative agency Marimo. The design project is a tribute to the Italian Constitution – understood as the broadest and most up-to-date basis for civil coexistence – and to the values that govern our collective life.

A few days ago, this great project was transformed into a huge mural, thanks to the support of the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, the Centenario Garbatella initiative, the Lazio Street Art plan and the contribution of visual artist Greg Jager. The work is located on the side façade of the ATER building in Via Adorno Gerolamo 50, in Rome’s Garbatella district.

The drawing, which now populates a 25×7 metre wall, illustrates the symbols and forms synthesised by Marimo to visually translate the first 12 laws of the State. These images present the best expression of the spirit contained in the words of the Constituents and narrate the fundamental principles of the Constitution such as the centrality of work, the inviolable rights of man, the integration of cultures, the secularity of the State and the protection of the environmental and artistic heritage.

With this project we want to open a season of visual translation of the norms and values that govern our collective life, so that they may become a widespread common heritage, so that the goals of civilisation may enjoy the strength that only symbols can release.”
