Ancient art and contemporary art, product design, sculpture and installations, video game characters and symbols of pop culture. In the universe of Daniel Arsham, nothing is missing — or rather, until a few weeks ago there was one final piece still absent, which has now been added.
The American artist has in fact unveiled Daniel’s Room, which, perfectly in line with his philosophy, is a space that defies easy definition. It is a gallery, but also a restaurant and a café: essentially a place where art, design, architecture, and everyday life intertwine into a single sensory experience, transforming the ritual of coffee into an act of artistic contemplation.
Daniel Arsham’s project stems from the idea of further extending his practice beyond the traditional boundaries of galleries and museums, bringing his aesthetic into the daily rhythm of the most public place of all: the Dubai Mall. Daniel’s Room presents itself as a contemporary living room where art is an integral part of every gesture, from choosing a coffee cup to reading a book.

The visual coherence of Daniel’s Room is what elevates it from a purely functional space to a total work of art. Every element inside, from furniture to lighting, from tableware to cutlery, is conceived according to Arsham’s aesthetic codes. This was also made possible thanks to the collaboration with the creatives at Drawingroom Design studio, who started from the logo and extended it across all the elements present in the space.

Another distinctive element that dominates the space, as well as the smallest details, is the turquoise color, a recurring presence in the artist’s work. Everything is conceived to create a harmonious environment where the visual language of contemporary art merges seamlessly with functional interior design.
Daniel’s Room invites visitors into a slow, reflective experience. Here, food and design are not two separate worlds: they influence one another, confirming how art can enter everyday routines without losing its integrity.
