Not an exhibition of objects, but a sensory journey through myth, matter and transformation. Earthbound Spirits opens at Isola Space, the permanent venue of Isola Design Group in Dubai, at the heart of Business Bay. It marks the international debut of Alkimista and the first chapter of a new partnership between the Milan-based platform and the project founded by Carlos Martinez and Maria Eugenia Serdan.

Alkimista was founded with a clear purpose: to bring Mexico’s rich cultural heritage to a global audience through timeless pieces that reflect the living artistry of its traditions. The exhibition brings together works by some of Mexico’s most celebrated master artisans, including Hilario Alejos Madrigal, Honorio Cruz, Talavera Santa Catarina and Tomás Martínez, with pieces in ceramics, clay, carved wood and textile. The result is an ensemble that refuses to separate craft from collectible design, letting both coexist in the same space.

The exhibition extends beyond Isola Space with a dedicated installation in collaboration with Soul Kitchen, official exhibition partner, creating a physical and conceptual connection between the two venues. The installation remains on view throughout the entire exhibition period, until 31 August 2026.

For Isola Design Group — founded in Milan in 2017 as a design district during Design Week and now active in Dubai, London, Riyadh and beyond — this collaboration represents a new way of thinking about cultural exchange: not as the export of an aesthetic, but as a meeting between creative communities with different histories and equally strong roots.
