What is femininity? How is it expressed? Everyone has their own opinion or definition of femininity. For someone it is a choice, for someone else an innate quality.
Personally, I have always thought that it is closely linked to sensuality, to the graceful charm of a gesture or a look. It has nothing to do with appearance but is an expression of the female body. It is malice, sweetness and elegance. It is imperfection and insecurity but it is also irony and pride.
The young Dutch photographer Nikki van de Poel, also known as Satellite June, seems to have perfectly clear how to portray femininity and does it through naked intimacy.
Each photograph is full of fragility and delicacy, harmony and grace. The bodies portrayed naturally, without filters. Only natural light to highlight contours and small imperfections.
