Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is best known for her installations characterized by many colors and explosions of light.
Her rooms are parallel universes where you can get lost to learn to live with something very different from reality.

During the National Gallery of Victoria Triennial, however, the artist wanted to give her installation an air completely different from everything we were used to.
Flower Obsession, this is the name of her work, is an artificial apartment in which every object has been covered, day after day, with flowers.
All visitors, completely free to do so, positioned their gerberas daisies on all available surfaces, thus creating entire square meters of beautiful flowers.

“One day, after gazing at a pattern of red flowers on the tablecloth, I looked up to see that the ceiling, the windows, and the columns seemed to be plastered with the same red floral pattern, I saw the entire room, my entire body, and the entire universe covered with red flowers, and in that instant my soul was obliterated … This was not an illusion but reality itself.”
