Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro is ready to surprise art lovers once again with an unmissable exhibition: Open Studio #3 | Arnaldo Pomodoro. La Sfera. An original journey that began on October 19, 2024, and will remain open to the public until June 1, 2025, invites visitors to discover the form that made Pomodoro an international legend: the Sphere. Curated by Federico Giani and hosted at the artist’s studio on Via Vigevano 3, Milan, the exhibition reveals a work that, despite its geometric perfection, has transformed into a powerful symbol of contemporary art.
The Magic of the Sphere: An Eternal Symbol
Arnaldo Pomodoro’s Sphere is not just an object to be admired but a “sculptural double” of the artist himself. Always synonymous with balance, perfection, and mystery, this form represents the essence of Pomodoro’s artistic exploration. With his Spheres, he has captivated the imagination of audiences worldwide, from Rome to New York, and as far as Dublin and Japan. But what makes it so special? The exhibition unveils the secret: each Sphere is a world unto itself, with layers of meaning and a surface that tells ancient and modern stories, where geometric perfection meets the imperfection of human experience.

A Story Told Through Sculptures and Archival Materials
The exhibition does more than just showcase Pomodoro’s sculptures. Alongside the Spheres, visitors can immerse themselves in a selection of drawings, photographs, and archival documents, many of which are previously unseen, that tell the story of this emblematic form’s evolution. The exhibition invites us to trace the Sphere’s history from its early experiments in the 1960s to its most monumental interpretations. This is also a rare opportunity to see two of Pomodoro’s many Spheres in person, pieces that laid the foundation for a global icon.
What makes this exhibition truly captivating is the way it creates a dialogue between Pomodoro and the world of contemporary art. His influence has not faded over the years; on the contrary, his Spheres continue to inspire a new generation of artists and creatives who see Pomodoro as a tireless innovator. His work never stops renewing itself, speaking to an ever-growing audience, crossing geographic and cultural boundaries to remind us that art is in constant transformation.

A Foundation that inspires
Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro is not only a custodian of the artist’s legacy but also a true laboratory of ideas. Founded in 1995 by Pomodoro himself, the Foundation aims to preserve and share his work while promoting events, exhibitions, and research involving pivotal figures in contemporary art. With this third edition of Open Studio, the Foundation continues its journey of rediscovering Pomodoro’s works, inviting the public to an experience of learning and reflection on one of the most representative symbols of our time.
If you’re in Milan, don’t miss the chance to visit the exhibition—a journey that goes beyond the bronze’s polished surface and takes us straight to the beating heart of Pomodoro’s art.
