Marcus Martinez is a Texas-based motion designer who creates rainbow-colored GIFs on black matt backgrounds. It seems that the shapes explode and come out of the screen to release the spectacular fluorescent colors from which they are composed. He started with his Tumblr about four years ago after admiring the works of Admiral Potato, Angular Geometry, PI-Slices and in that period has accumulated over 45,000 followers.
Although every aspect of the construction of a GIF intrigues Martinez:
“I get to give an emotion to the abstraction, I love that part”.
His GIFs are almost hypnotic, because of the optical illusion and their cyclical movements, resulting also as an opportunity for relaxation.
