A new HUMAN MADE pop-up store has been opened in Tokyo’s Isetan Shinjuku. The opening is part of a project called “STYLE UP“, where NIGO chose to pay homage to its country’s tradition with a wide range of classic Japanese items from the early Shōwa period, from December 1926 to 1945.
The collection includes a kimono jacket, the typical square furoshiki fabric wrap, an azuma bag, and the typical oshibori towel. The capsule is completed with accessories such as a bag, sake glasses and coin purse. A real gem of the collection is certainly the small yellow paper duck, made with the hariko technique, an ancient technique used for over 400 years, where several layers of handmade paper (washi) are used and then painted.
The capsule collection “STYLE UP” by HUMAN MADE is available at Isetan Shinjuku until April 10th.
