The Bridge: Cisalfa Sport and adidas Turn Movement into Connection

A football pitch, a pilates session, a boxing workout, a hybrid training challenge. Different activities, different audiences and different movements. And yet, in Rome, for two days, everything converged in the same space. This is the idea behind The Bridge, the project born from the collaboration between Cisalfa Sport and adidas, which on September 12 and 13 turned sport into a meeting point between disciplines, people and cultures.

More than a simple sporting event, The Bridge tried to tell the story of that increasingly thin line where performance and lifestyle stop being separate categories. A boundary that adidas is also exploring through its most recent projects, from the new Originals Sport collection, which brings Originals’ aesthetic codes into the world of training, to the proposals designed for hybrid training.

The event’s title highlights a connection: what’s defined as a bridge, in music, is that part which links different sections of a song, creating a passage before returning to something already familiar. Here the principle is transferred to sport, in bringing into communication things that normally run on parallel tracks. Football meets training, performance meets street culture, the product leaves the store to step directly into the experience of whoever uses it.

Two days, different disciplines

The first day was dedicated to football, with a 2v2 tournament built around rules inspired by the world of video games. Participants got to try out the Predator and F50 from the Chaos vs Control Pack on the field, surrounded by the jerseys of the most iconic adidas clubs. A format that shifts football away from simple competition and toward play and participation.

On Sunday the pace changed, and the day opened with the launch of the new Originals Sport, through pilates and boxing sessions dedicated to the women’s community. A choice that speaks well to the direction adidas has taken: the collection, officially presented in July, comes precisely from the meeting of Originals’ aesthetic with technologies designed for training, bringing together personal expression and performance.

In the afternoon, on the other hand, the body itself became the real tool of the challenge, with hybrid training sessions combining speed, strength and endurance, letting participants test the Adizero Dropset Pro, a model developed by adidas specifically to bring together the demands of running and strength training.

From product to experience

The product isn’t presented as something to look at, but as something to put to the test. The shoes enter the game, the clothing moves with the body, and the spaces become fields, gyms and places of socializing.

The set design followed this same idea too, with the venue’s surfaces crossed by dynamic visuals that continuously transformed the space, creating an environment where movement wasn’t just something happening to people, but also something that defined the identity of the place itself.

In this sense, Cisalfa Sport takes on a role that goes beyond that of a simple retailer. During The Bridge it worked as an intermediary between brand and community, creating a context in which trying, playing, training and being together become parts of the same experience.

A bridge to history too

Among the event’s spaces, one area was dedicated to the LA Trainer, one of adidas’s historic silhouettes. Through visual content and storytelling, the model became a point of connection between the brand’s past, present and future.

It’s a detail that completes the meaning of the project: the bridge doesn’t just connect different disciplines, but also different moments in sporting culture. On one side there’s performance, with technologies and products designed to meet increasingly specific needs; on the other there’s an aesthetic heritage that over time has stepped out of stadiums and gyms to enter everyday culture.

For two days, almost 200 people crossed this bridge. Not necessarily to reach the other side, but to discover how interesting it can be to simply stay right at the point of crossing.
