Initially, he wanted to be a chemical engineer but with time his passion got the better of him and it was impossible to repress it. So the Japanese artist decided to give up everything and devote himself to his only true passion known at the age of 13: balloon art.
From his home in Kanagawa, Japan, Masayoshi Matsumoto spends his days working with balloons, reproducing any kind of animal, from the simplest to the most detailed.
A complex and detailed work that can take hours to make just one.
His creative process starts with photos, collecting as many as possible so that he can observe the chosen animal from every possible angle. Only once he has studied the chosen subject in detail does Masayoshi Matsumoto move on to the actual creation.
