From 15 March to 15 April 2021 the Opera Gallery exhibition space in Dubai will host “Future Mosaic”, the first solo exhibition in the United Arab Emirates by Shepard Fairey, the renowned American artist and poster artist, known throughout the world as OBEY.
For the occasion, the artist has created double artwork on the walls of buildings 10 and 11 of D3 (Dubai Design District), the city’s luxury avant-garde district. Entitled “Rise Above“, they are his first murals in the Middle East.
The two works facing the D3 buildings are specifically titled “Rise Above Peace Fingers” and “Rise Above Peace Dove” and are produced by SAN Projects, a creative consultancy agency for global art strategies.
Created in just four days using stencils, spray paint and acrylic paint, the OBEY works reflect universal messages of peace, justice, tolerance and coexistence.
“The themes in the murals are universal. Peace, harmony, and creative empowerment should be aspirations for every culture and nation around the globe.”
