Looking at James Casebere‘s works you won’t be able to understand if they are true or not, if his houses submerged in water exist or are just fiction. James is one of those all-around artists, who in his works manages to blend all the techniques he knows, from sculpture to architecture, from design to photography.

The American artist starts by inventing a project from scratch and then gives it shape through models. In this case, he thought of a series of houses and built them with wood and paper and then submerged them in half the water. Only at this point does he move on to positioning the lights, thus creating the magic that he immortalizes in his shots. At this point, however, to increase that feeling of disorientation, he concludes the work on the computer.

They are surreal imagery, poised between real and dreamlike, that sometimes could remind us of some dreams made by children.
