How would you tell the story of your friends? Or rather. What medium would you choose to use to highlight them? Julien Lallouette chose photography.
Born in 1991, Julien Lallouette is a French art director and photographer, born in Le Havre, and based in London. In addition to commercial work, Julien does personal projects where she focuses on one person at a time. If you visit her website you can find several series of shots, each dedicated to a different person and titled with the name of the protagonist. Friends, acquaintances, but also models are portrayed in domestic and intimate environments where they have the freedom to show themselves as they really are.

The light is natural light that enters unhindered by wide-open windows, is filtered by curtains, or penetrates with difficulty from closed shutters. The retro and vintage style is the result of the film, in fact Julien Lallouette photographs in analogue, attracted by the thick grain, the effects, but also by the wait and attention that precede and follow the moment of the shot.
So, on our toes, we enter Lily’s bathroom while she’s taking a bath or Lucy’s porch when she’s just waking up. We have selected just a few of her shots, but follow Julien Lallouette on Instagram and visit her website to see more.
