La strada è il nuovo museo: i quadri di Julio Anaya Cabanding | Collater.al

Malaga street artist Julio Anaya Cabanding reproduces copies of art classics combined with their frames. Each piece is proposed in unlikely places like cliffs, abandoned walls and urban contexts. Julio’s operation is anything but a mechanical imitation, but hides a gesture of protest against museum institutions and describes the places he chooses as follows:

“These places are inhospitable, decadent, and inappropriate to receive such a valuable object. Opposite of what to museum is “.

People often confuse his works with digital works post produced with Photoshop, instead, they are the result of the meticulous reproduction of every classic painting. The urban context is embellished and takes on a new unpublished identity.
