One of the most anticipated and important events of the year took place in Milan last night, Kendrick Lamar‘s concert at the San Siro Hippodrome during the Milano Summer Festival.
The Compton rapper, singer-songwriter and producer presented the world premiere of his “The Big Steppers Tour”, 8 years after his first performance in Italy.
An hour and a half concert in which Lamar brought to the stage the best of his repertoire, from his latest album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, through To Pimp a Butterfly and Damn.
A few hours earlier, however, Kendrick Lamar was seated in the front row of the show dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2023 men’s collection, titled “Strange Math” and designed by the Prêt-à-Porter Homme Studio design team, “an ever-evolving creative ecosystem” (chosen and trained by Virgil Abloh himself).
A fashion show that looked much more like a kind of regeneration, of rebirth, the one staged in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre, which for the occasion was transformed into a dreamlike and colorful setting.
The 2018 Pulitzer Prize winner for Damn did not just enjoy the parade in the front row but gave a live performance in tribute to the late Virgil Abloh.
