With Kalyka, designer Lavinia Fuksas takes a natural step in her journey: from micro to macro, from body to space. After redefining the language of jewelry as a form of artistic expression, the designer makes her debut in collectible design with a work that blends matter, light, and gesture in a poetic balance.
Created with Pietro Franceschini, Kalyka is a precious and symbolic coffee table that merges Lavinia’s sculptural sensitivity with Franceschini’s dreamlike vision. Presented at the recent Design Miami.Paris (October 22–26), it was born from a collaboration with Mondavilli Scagliola, a gallery that promotes dialogue between 20th-century masters and new experimentation.

Made of stainless steel, mirror, and green marble from Lapland, Kalyka plays with reflections and contrasts. The geometric base supports a top that captures light, while three movable steel elements open like petals, revealing a hidden compartment or transforming into a small bar. The everyday gesture thus becomes an aesthetic ritual.

The piece fuses Lavinia’s classical inspirations — drawn from the marbles of ancient Rome — with Franceschini’s Renaissance refinement, transforming steel and marble into a living material, suspended between rationality and enchantment.

Produced in a limited edition of 11 pieces (9 available), Kalyka can be customized with different stones and materials, in the spirit of craftsmanship and Made in Italy. With this project, Lavinia Fuksas confirms her multidisciplinary nature, capable of crossing different worlds while maintaining an aesthetic coherence rooted in research, materiality, and the poetry of design.
