Lena Aires is an English photographer known for her delicate style that adapts perfectly to both analog and her subjects. Her shots, in fact, are characterized by telling moments of intimacy or of the subjects she photographs, or her own.
In her latest photo series, Lena Aires takes the concept of intimacy and digs into it from every angle. The photos were taken in the most private space of a person’s life: the home they grew up in.
The house where Lena spent her childhood and teenage years is located on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, and with these shots she takes us inside it.

“There is a strong feeling of nostalgia in this place. I long for its intimacy, but at the same time I long for somewhere else.”
Sometimes the subject is the house itself, her bed or a window, other times she puts herself in front of the lens of her 35mm camera, a choice that makes this photographic tale even more personal, turning the viewer into a witness.
