Lines (57° 59′ N, 7° 16’W) is the installation by Finnish artists Pekka Niittyvirta and Timo Aho which through luminous lines, shows the global warming effects.

Both focused on a kind of research that put the man in relationship to political-social and environmental changes, these two artists have placed three synchronized installations of light in the Hebrides, off the west coast of Scotland: one day, the areas highlighted by the lines will be completely submerged by water as a result of the rise of the oceans.

Archipelagos like this are particularly vulnerable, beautiful to look at, but destined to disappear. The work is intended to remind us that every planet around us is in danger and that humanity does not have much time to remedy the environmental problem.
