On the eve of Paris Fashion Week Online, Louis Vuitton unveil the Pre-Spring 2021 collection with shots by photographer Dani Bastidas.

Virgil Abloh conceived this collection as a “way of communicating fundamental humanitarian values through poise, style, and grace”, Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Spring 2021 collection aims to represent “the fundamental values of diversity of unity and inclusion”.

“We’re in a streetwear era – Abloh said – but I’m not satisfied with categories that are popular. I want to make a wardrobe. To me, that’s doing justice to the history and craftsmanship and savoir-faire of Vuitton.”

“What does fashion mean now that we have this global pandemic that has us thinking more about our health and safety than clothes? The environment is the issue our industry needs to address. It’s such a heavy issue, but realized I could make an impact as a designer.”

These are the further words of the artistic director of the Vuitton men’s line on the sidelines of the presentation and it is clear how much the vicissitudes that our society is going through are making everyone reflect on the real role of the fashion industry with regard to the problems that history is putting in front of us.

A re-appropriation of elitist fashion codes and transformed into symbols of inclusion.
The essential and the every day are at the heart of this Pre-Spring 2021 by Louis Vuitton: functional wardrobe and vest characterized by a new circular flower monogram, an anorak with a leaf monogram that recalls the utilitarian and practical theme of the collection from a practical point of view.
Continuing to superimpose the codes of luxury and everyday life, Abloh takes inspiration from workwear and pajamas to create pants and jackets.

Also new on the sneaker front, of course, Vuitton and Abloh will present a new silhouette that will have a transparent sole and a cushioning system, as well as a new Chelsea boot and a renewed Derby boot.

The complete lookbook of Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Spring 2021 will be presented at the end of July and the collection will be released with a series of drops between November 13 and February 20.
