Usually it is not nice to receive a spoiler, but in this case we are sure you will like it.
We previewed Mameli’s new album: Amarcord. Coming out on Friday 30th October for Hokuto Empire, Mario Castiglione aka Mameli is about to release his first official album and he decided to do it in autumn, mid-season, colder than hot.

Ten tracks that tell the nostalgia of a precise relationship, a thin thread that acts as a leitmotif for the writing of the new album. Ten tracks that just know of “memory, nostalgic evocation of the past: when we met again we made a long amarcord“. A passionate and ironic love story, accomplished on paper, but still intersecting the thoughts of the singer-songwriter, as can be seen from track number two which takes the title of the album.

The first album, after the Ep “Inno” released in April 2019, which is not suffering, it is not a poignant tear of his own self, but a smile with a bitter taste. A lost game, which perhaps you would like to replay, but probably as we understand in “Argomento triste” will never play again.

Amarcord is a consummate relationship, a perpetual memory that opens with “Sopra di me”, a perfect intro that puts you on the right track to understand well what the mood of the album is, and closes with “Futuro”: a song written in quarantine, a single that prospects a slightly dystopian future, in which all certainty seems to disappear, except her.In the middle we find singles already released as: “Record”, “Non ci sei più” and “Anche quando piove” with Alex Britti.

There is also room for a second feat, on track number 3 we find “Borotalco” with Lorenzo Fragola. A piece in which the voices of the two Sicilian singers manage to merge perfectly from the first to the last minute, a perfect synchrony that speaks of “tears at the bar counter”, waiting for everything to go up in the air together with his new socks.

We conclude our short review with the last two remaining singles, “Maniglie” and “Buoni per nulla”. Two opposite pieces, the first nostalgic the other one that almost wants to be an outburst, delirious and cycling around Milan. Two pieces that fit perfectly into the new, which, however opposite they may be, always describe that damned feeling of fear in losing someone dear to us.

In general, we can tell you even if it is never recommended to unbalance, that it is a record that is worth listening to and consumed to be understood, to understand its essence. 10 singles that will make you relive your memories, consistent with each other and never trivial.
