Everything we know about the launch of Massimo Osti Studio

With the conclusion of Milan Men’s Fashion Week, we shift our focus to Paris, where the launch of Massimo Osti Studio was announced yesterday, a clothing brand that draws inspiration from the legacy of the Italian designer of the same name, who is also the founder of C.P. Company. Tristate Holdings Ltd, the Hong Kong-based company specializing in the distribution and development of cutting-edge products, announced this launch. Massimo Osti Studio is a standalone project that analyzes the paradigms of modern clothing, emphasizing textile research and the functionality of innovative forms and industrial processes. These themes are not far from the innovations introduced by Massimo Osti himself, the founder of Chester Perry in the 1970s.

The innovations of what would later become C.P. Company in 1978 are numerous: from extensive use of the photocopier to dyeing garments made from different fibers or fabrics, to the reworking of archive military garments. In conjunction with the launch of Massimo Osti Studio, a capsule merchandising collection consisting of five items will be available for purchase on the brand’s website, massimoosti.com. The upcoming launches will be divided into eight chapters, prefacing the language of collaborative and cross-sector industrialization, emphasized in the most representative pieces of each chapter. In the case of the first chapter, Alcantara®, the focus will be on the industrial non-woven fabric that combines aesthetic and functional sensibility.

The subsequent chapters include Trama 3D, Collaboration on Functionality, Tecnomesh, Graphic Exploration, Sailing Exploration, Gore-Tex®, and Fresco Wool Gum. Trama 3D and Fresco Wool Gum will be the two chapters developed in collaboration with Limonta | 1893. In the first case, the protagonist will be a jacquard fabric, while in the second case, we will see a reinterpretation of Technowool developed by Massimo Osti but in a contemporary context. In short, we are very curious to see what the upcoming launches of each chapter will bring, delving into the process of exploratory storytelling and continuing Massimo Osti’s research in a new, innovative, and contemporary setting.
