The glance once inside the Neuroeconomics exhibition is certainly disturbing. The German-Norwegian artist Yngve Holen has in fact covered the floor of Spazio Maiocchi with a 3D scan of a cow carcass, recreating a “bloody and uncomfortable” environment, as the artist himself has defined it.
With the exhibition presented by Kaleidoscope, Yngve Holen creates a moment of reflection and a commentary on consumerism. To do so, he uses elements taken from the industrial world, which investigate the way technology determines our taste, our imagination and our desires. Next to consumer products such as the dollhouse, there are reproductions of organic elements such as a black cut of meat that increases the sense of anguish caused by the contrast between the red of the meat and the white of the walls.
Neuroeconomics will be open Monday through Friday until May 27, 2022.
