When one of the most famous Japanese product design brands meets one of the leading Venetian brands for glass processing, a unique design object can only be created.

Oki Sato, the founder of Nendo Studio, worked with the WonderGlass team to create a series of chairs in cast glass. The chair in the Melt collection consists of a U-shaped base and a seat and back made of a sheet of glass.

In addition to the chair, the collection includes an armchair, a dining table, a coffee table, a divider, a vase, and a chaise longue.

The inspiration for this collection came to Oki Sato when he watched the craftsmen melt the glass using traditional techniques, i.e. working completely by hand and shaping the glass to their liking without using any machinery.

The chair presents a great novelty in the world of product design, where glass is used as a secondary material or embellishment. In this case, instead, it becomes the protagonist, or rather the only element used for the realization.
