Nike‘s latest film, “The Toughest Athletes”, depicts and chronicles the incredible strength of women during one of the most important and impactful moment of their existence, pregnancy and early motherhood. It highlights the correlation between sports and motherhood through the eyes of moms, and those women who will become moms, during the various stages of pregnancy and postpartum.

Filmed during the pandemic, “The Toughest Athletes” features more than 20 mothers including Serena Williams, Alex Morgan, Perri Edwards, Bianca Williams, Shelly -Ann Fraser-Pryce and Nia Ali, as well as those women, mothers and everyday athletes.

The film was edited from over 22 hours of intimate footage shot by the mothers themselves, their friends and family, and each scene was directed via Zoom to safeguard the health and safety of all.

“The Toughest Athletes” celebrates women and moms around the world and their strength, from the UK via Singapore, France, Australia, Jamaica and many other countries.

The film promotes Nike’s first maternity collection, Nike (M), launched in September 2020 with the intent to support all pregnant women and to normalize sports and motherhood.

The Nike (M) collection is available in new colorways here plus the Beaverton-based company partnered with pre- and postpartum exercise expert Jane Wake to create four guided, maternity-specific audio workouts available on the Nike Run Club
