Aidia Studio has designed a hotel complex in the Abu Dhabi desert called “The Rub Al Khali Oculus”.
Adaptability is the key word to summarize the project of the studio, the structure has the ability to transform itself according to the time of day, the climate and the needs of its guests.
The structure is in fact surmounted by radial panels that cover the cabin, which contract and retract depending on the sun.
When the panels are completely unfolded, the complex blends in with the surrounding environment and becomes imperceptible to wildlife.
For the pretentious project born in the heart of the desert, sustainable materials such as certified wood and organic fabrics in natural shades were used to blend as much as possible with the surrounding environment.
The Oculus can be built from 30 prefabricated modules that can be easily assembled to build a self-supporting structure.
The construction process is quick and with minimal environmental impact.
Inside the structure offers a spacious open plan suite overlooking the gravelly plains, the habitat of wildlife, is specially positioned to amplify the vision of the galaxy stretching from east to west in the sky.
A real jewel, in the heart of the desert that blends in with the environment where you can spend an unforgettable holiday.
