Short video for Breakfast – One Breath Around The World by Guillaume Néry

Short video for Breakfast – One Breath Around The World by Guillaume Néry

Giulia Guido · 12 months ago · Art

It was 2015 when, during a race, French freediver Guillaume Néry risked his life diving to a depth of 139 meters and losing consciousness. Since then, Guillaume has withdrawn from the world of competition, but by embracing his love of cinema, he still manages to make us dream. One Breath Around The World, his latest work, made with his girlfriend Julie Gautier, is proof of this.

During the short film we follow Guillaume himself plunging into what at first seems to be a simple swim, but then it turns out to be a journey to discover the unknown, the magnificent, the surreal.

Filmed in 8 months in the waters of different countries such as France, Finland, Mexico, Mauritius, Japan, Polynesia, Philippines, the short plays on the diversity of the seas, flora and fauna that populate these places.

Following the body of Guillaume swimming, even if sometimes it seems to fly, we get lost in a world so beautiful, silent, mysterious that we can hardly believe it is what we live in.

Let yourself be carried away into the most unexplored depths of the Earth and of yourself.

Nuno Viegas, Glove II and the clean side of street art

Nuno Viegas, Glove II and the clean side of street art

Giulia Guido · 12 months ago · Art

Born in 1985, Nuno Viegas, also known as Metis, is a Portuguese artist. Having approached the world of street art only after having studied the most classical art and dedicated himself to painting, his style is clean, realistic and totally different from that of all his colleagues.

There is no need for any explanation, his murals are a demonstration of how Nuno conceives walls as a canvas, and uses the same technique used to paint.

His first work in 2019, Glove II, represents one of his most recurrent subjects, a white glove dirty with paint. It is the perfect embodiment of his ideals, those that conceive the world of street art as an art in its own right, those that push him to dedicate his works to every single person who devotes his life to art.

Enter the underground world of Nuno Viegas and discover his artworks.

Our Now, the new Calvin Klein’s campaign

Claudia Fuggetti · 12 months ago · Art

Calvin Klein launched the new campaign Our Now for the 2019 Spring-Summer collections for Jeans and Underwear lines. Given the great success of the brand on digital platforms, like for example Instagram, adv advocates everything in this sector and promises the perfect continuation of #MyCalvins.

Glen Luchford has made the video of the campaign that has as its soundtrack the legendary “True Faith” by New Order, while the images of the product were taken by Tyler Mitchell, together with accurate styling by Melanie Ward.

Who are the faces that have already conquered social networks?

The picture of Shawn Mendes is probably the most popular, even if they are not less than the other faces of the campaign including Noah Centineo, for first time testimonial for CK, Kendall Jenner, A$AP Rocky, Jasmine Daniels, Anna Ewers, Jiali Zhao, Lulu Tenney, Ernesto Cervantes, Fernando Albaladejo, Timo Baumann, Tommy Vanden Meerssche and Michael Order.

Aneta Pacholska, minimal and colorful illustrations

Aneta Pacholska, minimal and colorful illustrations

Claudia Fuggetti · 12 months ago · Art

Aneta Pacholska is a self-taught Polish visual artist based in Toronto that draws everyday life with bright colors that convey joy, familiarity and entertain the spectator, who identifies with the protagonists of her scenes. As the artist herself states:

“I like to magnify them in a colorful and sometimes humorous way”.

The most banal situations become a source of inspiration and even what seems boring, becomes captivating and magical, like a toast, a mask of beauty, bathing, reading a book and so on.

If this artist has struck you, you might also be interested in Ben Wiseman, who treats everyday life with irony and joy, while if you want to know other works by Aneta you can take a look at her Instagram.

Darel Carey and his immersive installations

Darel Carey and his immersive installations

Claudia Fuggetti · 12 months ago · Art

Darel Carey is a visual artist based in Los Angeles who after serving for 11 years at the US Air Force as a linguistic analyst, left everything to pursue an artistic career, graduating from the Otis College of Art and Design in 2016.

His installations play on the concept of optical and spatial perception, using lines to model and deform environments at will. Among the artists who have influenced his research path are Escher, Carl Krull and Bridget Riley.

Simple lines compose complex geometries, inducing the visitor to immerse himself, and sometimes, to get lost inside the space.

If you still do not know Darel, we suggest you visit his Instagram here.
