It was 2015 when, during a race, French freediver Guillaume Néry risked his life diving to a depth of 139 meters and losing consciousness. Since then, Guillaume has withdrawn from the world of competition, but by embracing his love of cinema, he still manages to make us dream. One Breath Around The World, his latest work, made with his girlfriend Julie Gautier, is proof of this.
During the short film we follow Guillaume himself plunging into what at first seems to be a simple swim, but then it turns out to be a journey to discover the unknown, the magnificent, the surreal.
Filmed in 8 months in the waters of different countries such as France, Finland, Mexico, Mauritius, Japan, Polynesia, Philippines, the short plays on the diversity of the seas, flora and fauna that populate these places.
Following the body of Guillaume swimming, even if sometimes it seems to fly, we get lost in a world so beautiful, silent, mysterious that we can hardly believe it is what we live in.
Let yourself be carried away into the most unexplored depths of the Earth and of yourself.
