JJJJound returns to collaborate with Vans to present a new special edition of Steve Caballero’s iconic Half Cab, this time under the OTW by Vans line. The drop is scheduled for today, Thursday, April 17 at 6:00 PM CET and will be available in two colorways — black and burgundy — priced at $135. But let’s take a closer look at what this is all about and the origins of a shoe that has become so iconic over the past thirty years.

Originally introduced in 1992, the Half Cab was born from the spontaneous ingenuity of skaters who would cut down their Caballero high-tops to improve performance for street skating. Now, the silhouette returns in a revamped version by JJJJound, who strips away the padding to make it even more minimal and lifestyle-oriented.

This special edition features a suede upper, available in black and a desaturated burgundy, both paired with cream-colored soles, tongues, and laces. Completing the design is the signature nylon tongue tag — a hallmark of JJJJound’s aesthetic. The sneaker merges Vans’ legacy with the Canadian brand’s minimalist approach, offering premium materials, muted palettes, and carefully crafted details.
