Palace pays homage to historic skate brand Aesthetics

This is a story that goes far beyond the trite and overused concept of “collaboration” between brands. This is a story of appreciation, of gratitude.
Palace Skateboards has announced what is a collaboration that pays tribute to the iconic London-based skate brand, Aestethics.

The fruit is a capsule collection called “Palaesthetics”, which will be released with the drop scheduled for Fall 2022 on August 26.
Aestethics was probably the most decisive source of inspiration long before Palace became an idea in the minds of founder Lev Tanju and his friend and Palace co-founder Gareth Skewis.

In 2001, when both of them were working at the legendary Slam City Skates historic skate shop founded in 1986 where one could find “UK Largest Range Of Skateboard Goods” – they were literally obsessed with the skate videos that Aestethics made and especially with Ryde or Die Vol. 1, assimilating what were the aesthetic characteristics and not only of street skaters John Igei, Sal Barbier, Rob Welsh and Clyde Singleton, laying the foundation for the birth of Palace.

The special capsule takes inspiration from the baggy style typical of ’90s skateboarders, heavily influenced by the rap and sports worlds.
Twenty-one years after Ryde or Die Vol. 1, Palace has released a new video that enhances and celebrates the immense impact Aestethics has had on the brand.
