No, you haven’t read it wrong, the British skateboard brand Palace has just presented its latest unusual and unpredictable collaboration, the one with music legend Elton John.
The result of this absolutely unexpected joint venture is a capsule collection consisting of 16 items that will be launched on the market on Friday, March 11.
To present the collabo Palace has released, yesterday, a video in which Sir Elton Hercules John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, declares in a sincere and frank way that he would never have thought to see his face on a skateboard and honestly, not even us.
Ditching the rhinestone dresses, heels and her eccentric and unique sunglasses, we see Her Majesty’s Baronet wearing an already iconic velvet tracksuit.
The capsule also consists of typical items of the brand’s legacy such as T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters and of course a skateboard, all featuring photographs that have distinguished the career of the singer originally from Pinner.
About the collaboration, Elton stated: “I’m so excited about my forthcoming collaboration with Palace. I’m always looking to the future, but the range brings back some fantastic memories – It really captures the essence of youth and freedom from my time on the road in the ‘70’s. I’ve never been a skateboarder but that’s not going to stop me wearing the lot”.

After the collaborations with Harrods, Stella Artois, AMG and Juergen Teller in recent times, Palace turns the tables and decides to link up with an absolute legend in the history of music of all time but that we would have hardly thought of associating with a brand like Palace.
The Elton John & Palace capsule collection will be released on Friday through the brand’s web shop and in stores.
