Patagonia tells the story of the range riders in the state of Washington

Patagonia narrates the story of the range riders in the state of Washington, where the conflict with rural communities of ranchers is escalating. The protagonist is Daniel Curry, and his mission as a range rider is to patrol wild areas on horseback to prevent wolves from attacking cows and demonstrate how coexistence is possible. It all begins with the return of wolves to the state of Washington, and when these animals are suspected of killing livestock, the consequences for the herds can be fatal.

«As a range rider, I work year-round to prevent wolves from looking at cows as a source of food,» comments Daniel Curry. «I believe I have a primary purpose in life on this planet, which is to be a bridge between animals and people. Since I was a child, I have always been able to relate to animals better than people. I believe that, thanks to the gifts I have been given, it is my duty to share this extraordinary bond that people can have with animals».

Although this documentary is produced by @wildconfluence, a production house active on rural themes, as stated in the press release by Patagonia, the intention is also to reflect on these issues from a European perspective. The return of wolves is also sparking debate on this continent, especially in light of the proposal made to the European Commission to downgrade the protected status of the wolf in the Bern Convention.
