OCT 25 - OCT 26

Back the ROBOT Festival in Bologna, event of electronic music and digital art that can not miss in your list of events. Now in its eleventh edition, ROBOT 11 will take place on 25 October in the spaces of the Sala Maggiore ex GAM, a location that reaffirms itself as the headquarters of the festival and will end the night of 26 October, with a final party at DumBO, the new space of cultural expression of the city. While last year’s slogan was “While You Were Sleeping”, for the current edition the proposed concept is #BlackBox, a name borrowed from cybernetics, which symbolizes a black box composed of dark mechanisms that deserve to be explored and deepened, to understand our relationship with technology. During the days of the festival it will be possible to participate in a program of meetings and conferences on the subject, organized in collaboration with RiFestival.

The first day of ROBOT 11 will be attended by one of the most anticipated guests, Barcelona-based producer John Talabot, together with British Leon Vynehall, known for his narrative imprint. The first evening will open with Corgiat, winner of the third edition of the JägerMusic lab, followed by Filibalou. In the Opium Room, dedicated to ambient music, we find a selection curated by Quarto Mondo, to offer the public a small oasis of relaxation. The line-up continues with names as interesting as those of: Red Axes, Israeli duo electro-rock, Moxie, Badsista and Tolouse Low Trax, founder and resident of the Salon Des Amateurs, the famous club of Düsseldorf.

The opening of the second day of ROBOT 11 will be entrusted to Alessandro Cortini, a member of Nine Inch Nails, who will present his new solo work “Volume Massimo” in Bologna. With post-punk and new wave sounds we find Curses, then, to follow, the return of Andrew Weatherall with at his side the eclectic Interstellar Funk, Afrodeutsche, British producer and Batu. As for the A/V shows there will be Lei, (No) Innocence and the performance Queering the Digital Space by Guenter Råler.

To crown the closing party at DumBO on the night of 26 October, the opening event of the space, we find Dj Rou, the pioneers of the acid house 808 State scene, the very interesting The Comet Is Coming, characterized by a sound that can be placed between cosmic jazz and electronics. To conclude the party in beauty we find the Roman dj and producer Donato Dozzy, with his hypnotic selection that ranges from dub to the most acidic techno.
