Polimoda has introduced AN/ARCHIVE EVENT ONE on the occasion of Pitti Uomo 105 – a preview of what will be the fashion studies research center. It is a true multidisciplinary experience that focuses on The Body; an exploration of the relationship between fashion and the human body. All of this is done in collaboration with A.N.G.E.L.O. Vintage Archive, along with works by William Forsythe, Minna Palmqvist, and Sissel Tolaas.

The collaboration with A.N.G.E.L.O. Vintage Archive showcases corsets and a selection of garments from Maison Margiela, Krizia, Romeo Gigli, Issey Miyake, and Comme des Garçons, among others. These traditional silhouettes play with the same concept discussed above, redefining the boundaries of fashion and the body. The intention of AN/ARCHIVE EVENT ONE is not only to present an exhibition but also to encourage dialogue and new discoveries through encounters with prominent authors, experts, and fashion researchers. Conversations will take place with Paola Antonelli, Valerie Steele, and artist Sissel Tolaas – the artist who presented INVISIBLEVISIBLE_22 – and Angelo Caroli in conversation with Giuliana Matarrese.

«So, not an exhibition of garments from different styles and eras, but rather an anthropological exploration of the architecture of the body, seen through the perspective of the archive. Capturing the aesthetic evolution of taste over the last 40 years, but essentially stimulating a necessary reflection on the changing perception of the body through the lens of gender identity and individual expression,» clarifies Massimiliano Giornetti, Director of Polimoda.

AN/ARCHIVE EVENT ONE will be open from January 9 to 21 at Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence.
