The Instagram profile that tells about public housing

If you think about it, there is one thing that all the cities in the world have in common.
No matter what we think of or what we have visited, they can be the immense metropolises of Southeast Asia, the great American cities or the more modest European cities with important historical centers. They can be crowded tourist destinations or small towns that are not even provinces.
All the cities of the world, more or less in the suburbs, have public housing.

These houses have all been built thanks to public funds. For example, the first working-class district of Milan dates back to 1905 when, on the occasion of the International Exhibition of Milan in 1906, the first working-class district in Via Solaro (today Via Solari) was built.

From an aesthetic point of view, public housing is very similar, the aim was, in fact, to create housing for as many people as possible at a low cost, so every decorative element was eliminated from the architecture. We often find, therefore, equal buildings that are repeated two, three, four times and connected to each other by internal courtyards.

The hidden beauty and charm of public housing meant that in early 2018, on Instagram, a profile dedicated only to these houses was created. @case__popolari is not just a collection of photos taken in all the cities of the world, it is the testimony of a way of life because the public housing is not a simple place, it is a sense of belonging.
