After more than a year of build-up and growing hype, Slam Jam and PUMA officially present their take on the Mostro, a legendary silhouette that over the past decades has established itself as a symbol of innovation and cultural relevance. The result is a sneaker—available in two brand-new colorways—that continues to blend timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge attitude, appealing to both early adopters and those who live fashion with a future-forward vision.

From its debut, the PUMA Mostro has always stood for personal expression and creative freedom. It’s this energy that Slam Jam wanted to explore by traveling to Tokyo, where they shot the campaign with Nathalie Scarlette, immersing themselves in the city’s underground scenes. The main visual reference is FRUiTS magazine, the cult publication that since the late ’90s has documented the most unique and alternative styles of the Japanese capital—styles that have often featured the Mostro in its pages.

The Slam Jam campaign reinterprets that exact spirit: fashion as self-expression, as a break from the mainstream. And it does so with a visual language that mixes archival references with new visions. The distinctive feature of this collaboration is a debossed tribal camo, which appears in the sneaker’s details and becomes a symbol of the connection between Slam Jam’s rebellious attitude and the Mostro’s avant-garde design.

The pre-launch is set for July 3 at all Slam Jam stores, including the new embassy inside SKP-S in Beijing, with a site-specific takeover. Starting July 7, the sneaker will be available globally through selected retailers.
