On April 2018 icon Rossana Orlandi organized “Senso di colpa” on the occasion of Fuorisalone, it was a multidisciplinary project dedicated to recycled and sustainable design. After this experience, she launched Ro Plastic Prize, a design competition which aims to find plastic-free design solutions.

On this year -in conjunction with the XXII International Exhibition Broken Nature at Triennale di Milano curated by Paola Antonelli and dedicated to the restoration of the relationship between man and nature – Rossana Orlandi made an exhibition of the winning designers on the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2019. The winners are Alexander Schul (Germany), who made a chair in recycled plastic; Reform Studio (Egypt) with a textile capsule made by plastic bags; Precious Plastic (Netherlands) that created a video campaign for plastic recycling awareness.

Four winners in four categories: Design process, Home Textiles, Packaging Solutions and Conscious Innovation Projects. The reflection on the plastic of the legendary Orlandi has also become an exhibition at the Milan Science Museum with 29 pieces in recycled plastic made by famous designers (Patricia Urquiola, Formafantasma, Massimiliano Locatelli, Fabio Novembre, Jacopo Foggini and many others). This magic woman has a constant dedication and through her projects, she invites the public to reflect on this very important topic hoping that the visitor will come home with a different mentality. We will see what will happen for the 2020 edition.
