Hussam Eissa’s works reveal a dreamlike and mysterious world
Starting from his photographs, the Egyptian artist Hussam Eissa creates surreal scenarios, on the borderline between reality and dream.
It will take you a while to understand if the works of Hussam Eissa represent something real or not. After all, this is precisely the objective of the Egyptian artist, who starting from photographs taken by himself and modified, gives life to a world similar to the real one and at the same time very far away, as if it were a memory of it.
As it happens to many designers, Hussam’s passion starts with photography, and then moves on to photomanipulation, until you get to a real graphic work.
But it is precisely the fact that Hussam starts from shots of real landscapes, beaches, roads, mountains, flat stretches, to leave his work suspended in the balance between reality and fiction.
His graphic works are characterized by a palette of dark, gloomy and melancholic colors, on the one hand mysterious and on the other they manage to get into it, making us feel at the same time a sense of loneliness and abandonment and reunion with the world.
These are modern works of art that wink at the most classic Surrealism that distorts reality in all its aspects, in the landscape and in the characters who inhabit it.
