At a first reading of the title I’m sure someone was somewhat confused, but rest assured I’ll explain everything.
Last night Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke shared on their Instagram accounts the poster for the new short film starring them, titled “Strange Way of Life”.
It is a western written and directed by Pedro Almodovar – in his second experience directing an English-language film – which will be presented out of competition as a world premiere during the 76th Cannes Film Festival (May 16 – 17, 2023) and will feature the two leads and the director who, after the screening, will stop for a chat with journalists to tell more about the project.
But what does Saint Laurent have to do with it then? The answer is simple and is manifested by the poster of “Strange Way of Life” where, the first thing we read at the top is, “SAINT LAURENT BY Anthony Vaccarello PRESENTS…” Well yes, Saint Laurent and El Deseo Production produced the Spanish director’s latest effort but not only. The French fashion house’s Creative Director, Anthony Vaccarello, personally oversaw the creation of the costumes we will see within the short film.
Unfortunately, a release date for the film has not yet been made official, but on one thing we can rest assured, aesthetically the short is sure to be wonderful, between Almodovar and Vaccarello there really is no need to worry.
