When it starts to get cold, we spend more evenings indoors and the holidays are approaching, we suddenly feel the need to gather around a table, with friends and family, and play. We pull out those great classics that were part of our childhood and buy a house in Parco della Vittoria, we sneak from the kitchen to the terrace of Tudor Hall in search of the murder weapon, we brush up on our knowledge of science in order to conquer the green wedge – who knows why that always comes last?! – and hold our breath as we operate on our patient.
How many evenings have been spent with our elbows on the Trivial Pursuit board or waiting for a turn in the Monopoly dungeon! And how nice it would be if that childhood desire to play and not think about anything could keep us company at all times!
Diadora is about to make our dream come true with a capsule collection in collaboration with Hasbro. The Italian brand and the giant manufacturer of board games have joined forces and together with designer Leo Colacicco have created 4 silhouettes dedicated to four iconic games.
Monopoly, Cluedo, Trivial Pursuit and Operation, these are the games that inspired Colacicco’s work and that we find in the four trainers of the Diadora x Hasbro collection that will be launched in Europe on Friday 3 December and worldwide on 17 December, but you can discover a preview during Sneakerness Rotterdam on 27 and 28 November.
It seems, however, that the two brands’ desire to have fun does not end there. To communicate this joint venture they have decided to involve two exceptional artists: plasticine artist Stefano Colferai and visual designer Luca Sacchi have joined forces to create ad hoc shop windows with a strong visual impact. Their work will accompany the release of the collection in a number of stores in Italy, but also in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and China.
But it doesn’t end there. On Friday 3 December, a talk will be organised at the SUEDE store in Rome with the designer who created the four silhouettes, Leo Colacicco. It will be possible to follow the event directly in the store or on Suede’s Instagram profile from 5pm to 6pm. Don’t miss it!
