The Chronicles of New York City, the new work of JR

JR, the globetrotter artist of French origin, returns to New York again and does so in style with his greatest work to date for the Big Apple.
The Chronicles of New York City is a tribute to all the citizens of the American metropolis who, after being photographed by the artist, found themselves onto a giant container in Williamsburg’s Domino’s Park, overlooking the East River, in a large black and white mural.

The Chronicles of New York City is just the latest work by the artist who, since opening his exhibition “JR: Chronicles” in October 2019, has transformed many areas of the city with this series of portraits dedicated to New York personalities.
Brooklyn’s great wall is the centerpiece of this retrospective and was created in collaboration with the architectural firm LOT-EK, known for its focus on sustainability.
A beautiful story completed by the possibility to listen, through any smartphone, to the stories of all those who were lucky enough to end up on that giant wall in the middle of a park in New York City
