Do you know the saying good things come in small packages?! That’s exactly what comes to mind when you step into Micro.
Micro is a tiny shop in Rome (exactly 9 m²), tucked into a corner of the Rione Monti and completely covered in art prints, posters, books, stationery and design. A true space-time portal, both physical and digital, dedicated to spreading Made in Italy creativity across the cosmos and beyond.
Out of the collaboration between Micro and Collater.al comes Just One Day, a series of exhibitions that each last just one day.
Each time, a different emerging illustrator will show an unpublished artwork, created exclusively for the occasion, in Micro’s space for one day only.
The first Just One Day event takes place on Friday, October 9, with Lorena Spurio, known on Instagram as @___wabisabi, who will be at the event. Her artwork Interno notte will be on sale as a limited-edition, signed print.
Lorena Spurio is an illustrator and comic artist born in Reggio Calabria, who has lived in Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Turin and Milan over the years. She came to illustration after studying literature and art history, then honed her craft at the Mimaster Illustrazione in Milan. Her imagery moves between the female body, the small imperfect moments of everyday life, the sea, the moon and cats, with a soft line and suspended scenes that seem to stop time. Her editorial work has appeared in outlets such as The New Yorker, The New York Times and The Financial Times, and in 2023 she won first prize at Posterheroes.
If you’d like to see the artwork in person, join us on Friday, October 9, from 6 to 9 pm, at Micro in Rome. Lorena will be there to meet the public and sign copies of “Interno notte”, available in a limited edition.
