During New York Fashion Week, at the Ace Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, the TOMBOGO brand presented “Outside the Box”, the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 gender-neutral collection.
Founded by designer Tommy Bogo as a new experiential outlet for learning and knowledge, TOMBOGO, in a process of constant evolution, creates garments that stimulate dialogue between function, form and impact while challenging the limits of the fashion industry.
The evolution of TOMBOGO mirrors that of its young founder and designer and also wants to be a mirror of the times, a careful look at contemporaneity. The brand is Bogo’s way of learning and growing through experiences during the design process and then sharing everything in tangible form with the rest of the world.
For this FW22 TOMBOGO continues its journey with “Outside the Box”, its FW22 collection presented on Friday night during NYFW, presented in collaboration with PORTL, a company that deals with holograms, to show the 10 looks of the collection thanks to a holographic device alongside a live show.
A gender-neutral collection that tries to explore what contemporary fashion demands by trying to move its boundaries further: life-size and HD holograms of the models wearing the items in the collection projected directly from the TOMBOGO studio in Oakland, California, thanks to PORTL’s device.
“I want to break out of the conventions of a classic fashion week show. The concept is a hologram and it’s outside the mainstream”, ha dichiarato Tommy Bogo.
The references are those related to outdoor clothing, jackets and pants are designed to protect from the weather and therefore inspired by the utilitarian aesthetic.
