Brno, the city of the Czech Republic known for its modernist architecture and buildings, may soon lose its primacy as the Czech city with the tallest building. Yes, because the sculptor David Černý and the architect Tomáš Císař of the Black n’ Arch studio have made public the project of the Top Tower, a building that would reach 135 meters in height and that should be built in Prague.
This skyscraper differs from other skyscrapers that are now being built in various cities around the world because it would include a skeleton of a tanker in its structure. You understand correctly, the red structure of the ship would come out of the water to be placed vertically on one side of the building.
Over time, the ship’s skeleton would have to be covered entirely with plants, making the building look like a sort of post-apocalyptic scene. In addition, this structure will house elevators that will allow you to get to the top and enjoy the view from the city below.
The presentation of the Top Tower project was accompanied by the projection of a video that highlights the dangers of climate change and, in some ways, the building becomes the symbol of man who becomes small in the face of the strength and power of nature.
