UNIQLO has recently unveiled its next collaboration with the art world.
A team-up with a true icon of American contemporary art and beyond, Jeff Koons, in partership with Qatar Children’s Museum.
This is not the first time that the Japanese fast fashion giant has created collections in collaboration with international artists such as Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.
“I enjoy very much how UNIQLO is in contact with my generation but also a younger generation, everybody enjoys, very much, their clothing and I love that sense of unity. I hope that this collaboration will help people around the world to connect with each other and that art will enrich their daily lives”, Koons said on the sidelines of the project presentation.
The works chosen by UNIQLO and Jeff Koons to be printed on t-shirts and tees are some of the best known and famous sculptures of the American artist: Baloon Dog, Seated Ballerina, Rabbit, Gazing Ball and Play-Doh.
An artist who has never hidden, on the contrary, has always emphasized his passion for the commercial and sometimes trivial side of contemporaneity, and then represent it. This collaboration with UNIQLO emphasizes once again how Koons’ versatility fits into any area of our society.
