Vans renews its collaboration with designer Nicole McLaughlin (previously involved in this iconic collab with Hoka) for a collection that merges adventure, functionality, and an outdoor aesthetic. The Slip-On RS reimagines the classic Vans design with practical details and sustainable materials. Inspired by vintage 1970s hiking backpacks, the collection reflects McLaughlin’s approach to repurposing discarded materials. «It’s essential to blend functionality, conceptual art, and style,» says the designer.

The Slip-On RS features a backpack-style pocket on the toe and adjustable nylon buckles. The upper is made of 40% recycled canvas with a PFC-free DWR treatment, ensuring water resistance and durability. The sole provides enhanced traction across various surfaces. Completing the collection are the Vans x Nicole McLaughlin backpack, which doubles as a climbing chalk bag, and cargo-pocket socks, both made from sustainable materials.

The campaign showcases the collection through a miniature set designed to resemble a base camp. The shoot, directed by McLaughlin herself, highlights the connection between design and visual storytelling.

Available in two colorways, Tan and Grey, the Slip-On RS Grey will be exclusively sold on vans.eu and nicolemclaughlin.com. The collection launches on February 26 on nicolemclaughlin.com and on February 27 via vans.eu and select retailers. «I love DIY culture and interactive designs, and I can’t wait to see how people customize them,» says McLaughlin.
